Dr Elizabeth Sherratt’s doctoral research, ‘The Equine Sensorium’ was driven by a curiosity to understand how horses perceive their surroundings. Her doctoral research on equine vision was conducted at the University of Lincoln, melding both art and science methodologies.
Dr. Sherratt conducts in-depth research focused on translating scientific findings related to equine monocular visual perception. As a result of this research, Dr Sherratt devised and created devices which she terms Human to Equine Sensory Devices (HESDs), which enable humans to experience how horses perceive their environment through simulation. These devices have practical applications within the equine community.
The development of the HESDs resulted from rigorous scientific research and collaboration with equine professionals and animal scientists. Dr Sherratt welcomes further discussion of her research and opportunities for collaboration and consultancy.
