Horses: Icons of the landscape

29 June 2025

Guiding-Light

I feel privileged to be a contemporary equine artist; I never tire of endeavouring to capture the sensitivity, movement, and presence of horses. This prompts me to continually draw and paint horses, preferably from life but also from my imagination. Horses are a constant source of inspiration and wonder.

Although horses may not be a part of most people’s daily lives, they are among the most beautiful icons you can encounter, whether while walking or traveling. It is hard to imagine a landscape without the beauty of horses.

Humans and horses share a long and intertwined history; they are often the unsung heroes not mentioned in history books. Without horses, human progress would have certainly been hindered. So, the next time you see a horse, take a moment to appreciate their bravery and majesty—timeless qualities.
